Estoy muy orgullosa de anunciar que nuestro trabajo en GPM, «Aplicando prácticas sustentables a la gestión de proyectos » ha sido nombrado finalista en los premios IPMA Achivement Awards, en la categoría «Servicio a la comunidad / Proyecto de desarrollo 2013»
La decisión final de los jueces se llevar{a a cabo en la la gala de Premiación IPMA que tendrá lugar el 1 de Octubre de 2013, durante el 27° Congreso Mundial de IPMA, en Dubrovnik, Croacia.I am so proud to announce that our project in GPM Global, Applying Sustainable Principles to Project Delivery has reached the Status of Finalist in the IPMA Achievement Award; Category: Community Service/Development Project 2013.
The final decision of the judges will be held at IPMA Award Gala which takes place on 1 October 2013 at the 27th IPMA World Congress in Dubrovnik.

GPM is Invited to Participate in the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2013: Architects of a Better World, taking place on 19-20 September in New York.GPM fué invitada a participar de la «Cumbre de Líderes del Pacto Mundial 2013: Los arquitectos de un mundo mejor» ; que tendrá lugar los días 19-20 de septiembre en Nueva York.
Chaired by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the Leaders Summit will bring together chief executives with leaders from civil society, Government and the United Nations to unveil a new global architecture for corporate sustainability. As the Millennium Development Goals 2015 deadline approaches, the Summit will set the stage for business to shape and advance the post-2015 development agenda – putting forward an architecture for business to contribute to global priorities, such as climate change, water, food, women’s empowerment, children’s rights, decent jobs and education, at unprecedented levels.
I would like to hold a few online town hall sessions for the project management community prior to the summit so that I may serve as your representative.

Reconociendo y promoviendo la importancia del desarrollo sustentable, UCI se ha distinguido por su búsqueda y compromiso con esta temática fundamental en nuestros días. Desde su fundación en 1994, ha desarrollado múltiples iniciativas en pro de la formación de una conciencia global ambiental. En celebración del Día de la Tierra, UCI ratifica esta responsabilidad sumando a su programa de Administración de Proyectos, educación en las capacidades necesarias para convertirse en Green Project Manager.
Reconociendo y promoviendo la importancia del desarrollo sustentable, UCI se ha distinguido por su búsqueda y compromiso con esta temática fundamental en nuestros días. Desde su fundación en 1994, ha desarrollado múltiples iniciativas en pro de la formación de una conciencia global ambiental. En celebración del Día de la Tierra, UCI ratifica esta responsabilidad sumando a su programa de Administración de Proyectos, educación en las capacidades necesarias para convertirse en Green Project Manager.
“El Día de la Tierra es un momento especialmente importante, para reflexionar sobre el uso razonable de los bienes que provee el planeta y la necesidad de no “agotar el capital planetario”, sino aprovechar y vivir solamente con sus «intereses» en términos usados en estos días. Por eso UCI desea inculcar en las disciplinas que imparte el conocimiento y conciencia de que no podemos dilapidar el mundo que nos han prestado las generaciones futuras.”, declaró el Decano de AP de UCI, Ramiro Fonseca.
“En cada uno de los foros en los que ha participado tanto en Costa Rica como América Latina, el Caribe y fuera del continente, nuestro rector Dr. Eduard Muller, que se ha distinguido como conferencista e investigador en esta temática, promueve la toma de conciencia ante los efectos que los patrones irresponsables de consumo pueden ocasionar en el ambiente, con un mensaje de urgencia y compromiso, pero también de esperanza de que podamos legar a las generaciones venideras un planeta mejor al que vamos camino a entregar si no cambiamos nuestra mentalidad y acciones.»
La UCI ha considerado que la educación es un elemento indispensable para cambiar y aun revertir las tendencias actuales. Con este pensamiento ha firmado un convenio con Green Project Management, el cual promueve la implementación de criterios de sostenibilidad en los proyectos, y el ofrecimiento de programas de capacitación que conduzcan a certificaciones profesionales de validez internacional como el Green Project Manager a través de la metodología PRISM.
El día 22, con ocasión del día de la tierra, simbólicamente comenzamos un curso de preparación para dicha certificación que será tomado por docentes de todas las facultades de la Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional. Este es el primer paso para ofrecer a nuestros estudiantes, a partir del III cuatrimestre del año, la posibilidad de prepararse también para obtener dicha certificación, lo cual representará no solo una muestra de compromiso personal e institucional con el ambiente y con el futuro sino un factor diferenciador esencial en la formación académica y profesional de nuestros egresados.»
