Presenter Bio

Larry Barnard is the founder of the International Institute of Sustainability Project Management (IISPM). As a business leader, entrepreneur and professional speaker, Larry draws on 17+ years of business and project management experience to help organizations around the world better achieve their goals. He is the co-author of the first sustainability project management guide, Making Sense of Sustainability Project Management, providing project managers and business leaders with the necessary processes, tools and techniques to manage sustainability within projects in any industry. Additionally, Larry consults and has authored courses and books in management, business analysis and project management to complement international standards set by the Project Management Institute (PMI), APMG out of the UK, and the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).

Currently Larry spends his time as a professional sustainability business and project management consultant, along with teaching and developing course curriculum with Learning Tree International.

Over the last couple of years Larry has worked with organizations like CIBC, Affilias, and Goodyear to streamline their project management processes and increase efficiencies. Larry has also worked with the DFID (Department for International Development), of the UK, and Homeland Security within the US to help develop their Project Management Offices. In addition, Larry has provided strategic risk management planning for the Federal level of policing oversight in the US and the Library of Congress as they planned their online offerings.

Larry graduated from McMaster University with a B.A. in History and Political Science. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Risk Management Professional (PMI RMP), IISPM Practitioner, Change Management Practitioner with AMPG, a certified professional speaker with the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers and Trainers (CAPS), the International Federation for Professional Speakers, and Past President of Stoney Creek Toastmasters International. He lives in Grimsby, Ontario.
